Malabar Spinach is not a true spinach but a climbing vine with succulent, heart-shaped leaves and tender stems. It has a mild, peppery flavor with notes of citrus. When cooked, it becomes mucilaginous, similar to okra, making it a great thickener for soups and stews. In many parts of Asia, it is simply stir-fried with garlic and shrimp paste. We offer both the green and red-stemmed varieties.

Interesting Leafy Green: Malabar Spinach has a unique texture, a bit thicker than regular spinach. It holds up well to cooking. These were fresh and of good quality. A great green for stews.
