Dried Angelica Root is a powerfully aromatic herb with a long history in European culinary and medicinal traditions. It has a complex, pungent flavor that is earthy, musky, and slightly bitter, with notes of celery and licorice. It is famously used as a key botanical in the production of gin and other liqueurs like Chartreuse. In cooking, it is used sparingly to flavor stews and fish. We supply high-quality, dried cut root for distillers and herbalists.

Good, but must be used sparingly: The Angelica Root is very potent, which is a sign of good quality. The flavor is strong and complex. New distillers should be warned to use it sparingly, as it can easily overpower other botanicals.
