Elephant Garlic is not a true garlic, but a variant of the leek. It produces enormous cloves, often just a few to a bulb. Its flavor is a very mild, gentle garlic with onion-like undertones. It lacks the sharp pungency of regular garlic, making it an excellent choice for dishes where a subtle garlic flavor is desired, especially when roasted. Roasting brings out a creamy texture and a mellow sweetness. Perfect for those who find regular garlic too strong.
